The rain has subsided here in the Mile High City

The rain has subsided here in the Mile High City, and although a small portion of the Platt River trail is technically closed, we have managed to forge through with our bike tours and navigate our way through the waters.   I’ve made a game to it to see how our skilled our riders are. If you get a foot wet, you lose!

Yesterday was a scorcher, but we can’t complain after record rainfall during the month of May. A fine family of four from Springfield, MO joined us along with two beautiful gals from San Francisco.   All I can say is we drank A LOT of water on yesterday’s tour. The best part of the tour was taking a break in Civic Center Park and enjoying offerings from the two dozen food trucks that were parked at lunchtime. As a bonus, we got to listen to live music!!

School is out for the summer and Elitch Gardens is officially open! Folks on the bike tour not only get the thrill of riding behind the roller coasters at Elitches, but get to hear people scream in sheer terror while riding the “Brain Drain”, which does lots of loops.   I’ll stick with the old fashioned roller coaster, even though I know I’ll need an adjustment from my chiropractor afterward.

This 3-hour tour includes all the same great sights and attractions as the Denver City Tour. Toward the end of the ride, we explore the hip and happening RiNo District (River North) and make a stop at a local brewery.
